Dried yeast is a leavening agent used for fermentation of sugars present in the dough used in baking bread and bakery products. It helps in ‘raising’ the dough. It is not a nutritional ingredient and may not significantly contribute to calories/nutrients of the final product.
Dissolve Bakers Dried Yeast in warm water (105-115 F).
Measure warm water into a bowl as per your recipe at least 1/4cup
(if bowl is cool, rinse with hot water).
Sprinkle in yeast, stir until dissolved. Use dissolved yeast as directed in recipe.
Note: If you prefer to use some other liquid instead of water, substitute 1/4 cup water with 1/4 cup preferred liquid and dissolve as above.
